Truth About Parasites: Tapeworms
Tapeworms: When the Body Says "I'm Starving"
In our continuing journey into the world of parasites, today we meet one of the more infamous guests: Tapeworms — long, flat intestinal invaders that can live inside the body for years, quietly robbing us of our nutrients, energy, and clarity.
But as always, we approach this with no fear — only deep listening. Parasites are part of the Earth too. Their presence often points to imbalances in our system — not punishment, but a signal. A mirror.
What Are Tapeworms?
Tapeworms are flatworms that live in the intestines of humans and animals. There are multiple species (like Taenia soliumfrom pork, or Diphyllobothrium from fish), and they can grow up to 25 feet long in the intestines — which themselves average 15–25 feet in adults, and more depending on size of person.
These organisms latch on to the walls of the small intestine, absorbing nutrients from the food you eat. This creates a subtle and ongoing deficiency that can result in a range of symptoms and long-term issues.
Symptoms + Imbalances Associated with Tapeworms:
Many people don’t even realize they’re hosting one. But some of the most common imbalances associated with tapeworms include:
Chronic hunger or ravenous appetite with no weight gain
Nutrient deficiencies (esp. B12, iron, fats, protein)
Skin conditions (eczema, acne, dry skin)
Mood imbalances (anxiety, irritability, fatigue)
Bloating, gas, digestive discomfort
Brain fog or trouble concentrating
Autoimmune flares or inflammation
Teeth grinding or disturbed sleep (esp. around full moon)
Diseases + Diagnoses Linked to Tapeworms:
While not always clearly diagnosed, tapeworms have been correlated with or misdiagnosed as:
Anemia
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Celiac-like symptoms (even when gluten-free)
Epilepsy (in rare cases of larval brain migration)
Persistent nutrient deficiency despite supplements
Dermatitis and eczema
ADHD-like symptoms in children and Adults
Earth Medicine + Rebalancing
Instead of fearing these organisms, we can honor what their presence is showing us:
A need to restore sovereignty in our internal terrain.
This is the work of purification and protection — spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Tapeworms often flourish when there’s a breach in our boundaries (gut lining, immunity, self-protection).
Some practices for rebalancing:
Herbal allies: Wormwood, black walnut, cloves, pumpkin seed, neem, epazote
Bitters + bile movers: Dandelion root, artichoke leaf, burdock
Digestive fire: Ginger, cayenne, turmeric, black pepper
Energetic rituals: Full moon baths, womb steaming, prayer, gut journaling
Anti-parasitic protocols (guided by practitioner if severe)
Liver and lymph support: Stay hydrated and moving
Lunar Link
As always, these symptoms can flare around the full moon, when the body's internal waters shift and parasites become more active. But with awareness, we use these times to clear, to witness, and to heal.
This is not about waging war. It’s about reclaiming peace.
Peace within the gut. Within our Earth-connected body.
Peace that begins with presence. Peace within our Lineage.
